Women’s Basketball: Owls lose big to Kansas State 102-53

December 13, 2015

The Kansas State University Wildcats jumped out to an early 17-6 lead in the first quarter, using that momentum on their way to a 102-53 victory over Florida Atlantic Women’s Basketball. The 102 points scored are the most by an Owls opponent since Feb. 13, 2003 when Campbell University beat them 107-90. The 49-point loss is the biggest margin of defeat since March of 2012, when FAU lost by 56 in a WNIT game to the University of South Florida. Kansas State (8-1) recorded 12 more rebounds, 12 more assists, five more steals and five more blocks than the Owls (5-2). They also outshot FAU making 54.9 percent of their field goals - 58.3 percent from three point range- compared to FAU’s 30.3 and 22.6 percent marks respectively.
