After two Adonis Filer free-throws with 1:05 remaining forced overtime, Florida Atlantic men’s basketball seemed to run out of gas in the overtime period and fell to Rice University 81-75 on Saturday night in Boca Raton.

Men’s Basketball: FAU’s second half comeback falls short in loss to North Texas

Florida Atlantic men’s basketball, who went into halftime trailing by 11 points, chipped the University of North Texas’ lead down to two points but were unable to complete a second half comeback as they fell to the Mean Green 70-64 Thursday in Boca Raton.

Women’s basketball: FAU ties program record with 12th straight loss

Florida Atlantic women’s basketball tied a program record with 12 consecutive losses after falling to the University of North Texas 79-57 on Thursday night in Denton, TX. The previous mark was set back in the 2006-07 season, when the Owls were unable to win a game from Jan. 3 to Feb. 15.

Softball: Owls rack up multiple preseason awards, begin season Friday

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association and USA Softball have both announced their respective preseason polls, with Florida Atlantic softball starting the season at No. 23 in both rankings. The Owls finished the 2016 season with a 51-9 record and a Conference USA Championship, capped off by their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
