Florida Atlantic women’s basketball will announce the hiring of Jim Jabir as its new head coach in a press conference on Thursday, according to an FAU Athletics press release sent via email.

Jabir last coached in the NCAA ranks as the University of Dayton’s head women’s basketball coach. He held the position for 13 years until resigning before the 2016-17 season citing health reasons, according to the Dayton Daily News. However, he returned to the bench in January, when he coached the SISU Copenhagen, a professional men’s basketball team in Denmark.

Jabir is Dayton’s all-time leader in wins, and led the program to the Elite Eight in 2015. He also led the Flyers to six consecutive NCAA Tournaments, a streak that ended during his last season in charge.

The Owls will officially announce Jabir as the new head coach in a press conference on Thursday.
