ead baseball coach John McCormack received a four-year contract extension with Florida Atlantic Wednesday, pushing his contract through the 2020 season.

McCormack has led the team to six 30-win seasons in his seven years as head coach of the Owls. He has also won three conference championships with FAU and has made three NCAA regional tournament appearances.

“I first want to thank [John] Kelly, Pat Chun, and the rest of the administration for having the faith in me to continue to lead the program,” McCormack said through an FAU Athletics news release. “I consider it a tremendous honor. I look forward to the opportunity to move our program to new heights in the next couple of years.”

Before taking the role of head coach in 2009, McCormack served 11 years as an associate head coach and seven as an assistant coach with FAU under former head coach Kevin Cooney.

Currently, the No. 17 ranked Owls hold a 30-12 record with 12 games left to play this year.
