Clevis Headley is no longer chair of the philosophy department, a position he’d held for more than two years.
He resigned on Oct. 27 – two weeks after a lawsuit by another philosophy professor alleged that his promotion to the position was the result of favoritism.
As of press time, Headley had not replied to three e-mails and a phone call requesting an interview.
Headley’s position change became official on Nov. 1, according to an e-mail that College of Arts and Letters Dean Manjunath Pendakur sent on Oct. 28.
Pendakur wrote that Jeffrey Morton, Ph.D., a political science professor, would become the interim-chair of the department.
