Forget coffee, I want beer

With a name like “Coffee District” you would assume that this place primarily serves coffee. However when you walk in, the first thing you see is a line of beers and wines from floor to ceiling. According to their online poll of 68 votes, the customer’s favorite thing about Coffee District is its beer and wine list.
“We carry about 100 to 140 beers depending on the season,” states manager Melinda Webster.
Along with the beer, wine and coffee, they serve all homemade foods with the exception of the carrot cake, which is brought in from another store. Paninis, salads, soups and desserts give this neighborhood coffee bar a bit of a diner-feel. If you just want classic coffee, they do serve espresso, frappes, lattes and smoothies.
They also have nightly entertainment like open mic nights, karaoke night, poker night and even a home beer-brewing class and tasting on the first Monday of every month. For $25 you can learn how to brew a beer from beginning to end.
The atmosphere of a coffee shop, with more alcohol than a traditional bar, makes this place truly unique.

Coffee with a side of tater tots

There’s a quaint place in Fort Lauderdale that serves an unlimited flavor list of coffee and teas and cooks up 20 different kinds of tater tots for the artsy-fartsy type. Aillen Liptak, owner of the Underground Coffeehaus, will ask you several questions to figure out your favorite taste and make a random concoction just for you.
“The drinks aren’t just drinks; it’s the experience,” Liptak explained. She can’t decide if “peanut butter cup” or “carrot cake latte” is her favorite flavor of coffee.
Guests come back frequently due to the local art displayed throughout the shop. Every two weeks, new artists come in and can win cash prizes. Along with local art and even a movie being played ever single night, they also hold book drives. Liptak, an avid book collector, has hundreds of books scattered on the shelves throughout the store.
