This movie fills in the history of both James T. Kirk, future captain of the Enterprise, and his Vulcan commander, Spock. It also gives background history of how each of the classic characters comes to join the crew.

Classic lines from characters like Dr. “Bones” McCoy, Mr. Spock and chief engineer “Scotty” will make true Star Trek fans cheer. As promised, the movie also features the one and only Leonard Nimoy as an older Spock.

To most Trekkies, the movie is not the version most may remember. The young actors bring a breath of new life to the characters they portray and reach out to audience members of all types.

The graphics easily plow this film into the 21st century, making this a movie that can be enjoyed by both avid fans and newcomers to the franchise.

Never having seen a Star Trek episode or movie from the days of William Shatner’s Captain Kirk, I still thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The movie was aimed more toward people like me, as a gateway into the worlds of Star Trek.

Star Trek comes packed with high quality special effects, a new all-star cast and a storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
