The real life medical drama has taken a turn from entertaining to dramatic, although there are still plenty of needles, stitches and blood to keep the show from turning into a total cheese-fest. Make sure to watch it by yourself – so no one can see you cry.
The latest episode of “Hopkins” depicts a woman in need of a new pair of lungs. The first surgery is unsuccessful because the transplant lungs “weren’t good enough,” but the second surgery is a success – complete with a teary-eyed family reunion.
Above the abyss of medical drama is some real-life relationship drama, as one of the doctors is going through a divorce. He jokes that the women who are married to resident physicians should be called widows, since their husbands are never around.
Meanwhile, across the hospital, another doctor is on the verge of getting married against the advice of some of his doctor colleagues. They tell him that the woman who is perfect for you when your life is super stressful might not be the right person when your life is more balanced – not too sure what that means.
Catch “Hopkins” Thursday nights on ABC at 10 p.m. or watch episodes anytime on abc.com.
