At the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge, there are paths for fishing, airboating and canoeing, as well as trails for hiking and bike riding.
Although alligators seem like the main attraction, the Everglades is home to more than 2,000 species of plants.
Few man-made structures exist in this part of the county, but efforts to keep the Everglades clean include placing trash cans at each boat ramp.
