FAU’s calorie-counting co-eds can rejoice – Seasons 52 (2300 N.W. Executive Center Drive, Boca Raton) promises not to deliver a single dish over 475 calories. While that regrettably means fresh veggies won’t be soaking in butter and that hearty baked potato skips the dollop of cream, Mediterranean meats, fowl, seafood and pasta items more than offset a little shortchanging.
First grab a booth and lounge to big band swing music, then browse the 70-item – yes, 70-item – wine list. Start light with a crunchy rosemary and Parmesan cheese flatbread appetizer ($3.25), then nosh on a grilled tuna nicoise, served on a bed of arugula, steaming spring veggie salad and artichoke hearts ($10.75).
Other inspiring dining options that won’t crack the calorie limit include the tried-and-true charred filet mignon ($26.75), a six-ouncer with garlic mashed potatoes and barbecue sauce. The pork tenderloin skillet ($15.75) won’t disappoint, either: It’s crowned with leaf spinach and cremini mushrooms, decorated with polenta gratin and drizzled in sherry glaze.
We recommend capping off that scrumptious calorie-killer with either the strawberry-mango cheesecake or the pecan pie with vanilla bean mousse (both $2.95). They rack in at under the 475 limit, too, in case you were wondering.
