The results are in, and SG’s first election under the new constitution ended with 27 brand-new people elected to Boca’s House of Representatives.
SG election officials released 2 a.m., but stated they were unofficial until complaints, due at 5 p.m. Monday, from representatives are heard by the Election Commission or the Student Court.
“Every semester there’s disputes,” says Sai Lo, who was elected, unofficially, this week.
Trevor Raborn says that some complaints will be “about statutes that weren’t followed.” He points to the late appointment of the Election commissioners “by our student Body President Tony Teixeira.”
Raborn also cites problems regarding the extra day of voting, “They only put up one polling station in one place, and it was only open 11-4 p.m. even though they said 9-5 p.m.”
However, Raborn does state it “Wasn’t the Election Board’s fault, they didn’t have time to check all that,” point again to the late appointment by Teixeira.
Over 12,000 people voted in the Boca House of Representative race.
