Timothy Leistner, fine artist, author, photographer and educator has exhibited his artwork widely throughout the United States of America. Leistner’s artwork is part of numerous corporate and private collections. Timothy Leistner was selected as a State of Florida Residency Artist through the Cultural Arts Division of Florida. He is included in the Broward Arts in Education Approved Artist Directory. He has created the cover art for three published books and is currently working on the art for a new children’s book. He has contributed art to numerous charitable organizations such as the Symphony of the Americas; Deliver the Dream; The Pet Project; Dog Day Run; Child-Net; and Broward Food Bank to name a few.

In addition to his work in the arts, Dr. Leistner has served as an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University for over 14 years. He instructs LAE4353: Teaching Children’s Literature and Language Arts and other courses in the Department of Teacher Education, College of Education at FAU.

He currently has art works on display at ArtServe Galleries (Art Bravo! Exhibit); Moonlight Gallery; and Art Expressions Gallery. His upcoming solo art exhibition will be in December, 2006 at Art Expressions Gallery in Ft. Lauderdale. This is his third solo exhibit at this gallery and it is titled, “INCOMPLETE ESCAPE- NEW WORKS BY TIMOTHY LEISTNER”. He will display work in the “Masters Mystery Art Show” benefiting FIU in Miami Beach in December and have another solo exhibition of his work at “Music Art Love” Gallery in Dania Beach, Fl in January, 2007.

Dr. Leistner plans, develops curriculum, and implements an art distance learning program for the Art & Culture Center of Hollywood and BECON Educational Television. He teaches art to disabled and challenged children through United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida, and teaches watercolor painting classes to adults for the City of Fort Lauderdale. .

Recent 2006 exhibitions of his artwork include: The Hortt 45th Juried Art Competition; Art Bravo! & The Red Eye Exhibition at ArtServe Galleries; “Metaphoric Images: Fine Art Photography by Timothy Leistner” Solo Exhibition, at Art Expressions Gallery; Art Erotica at Art Expressions Gallery; Solo exhibition at Boca Raton Community Center; The Anniversary Exhibit, The Gallery Space at Chromatek Imaging: United and Proud Exhibition and Starving Artist Exhibition at Gallery Six: and the 3rd Annual Florida Artist Exhibition, The Old Davie Schoolhouse Museum.

Timothy Leistner’s art design was selected for a fighter jet helmet art for the McDonald’s Air & Sea Show which was on display at The Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, ArtServe Galleries, Seminole Hard Rock Cafí©, and aboard the USS San Antonio. Other notable items include serving as curator and jurist for art organization; contributing writer for various publications, education in the arts speaker and presenter.
