Believe it or not, you can still get some things in life for free. Below is a list of activities available around the Boca Raton campus that won’t cost a dime, but they are a lot of fun.
The beachesWhether swimming, playing volleyball, or just plain lying out in the sun is your deal, the beach is the place to do it. Deerfield is great for volleyball and surfing. Spanish River is the closest, and less crowed than Deerfield, but parking there is also more difficult.
Barnes and Noble On Glades in the University Commons shopping plaza.Upstairs are tables that provide a great study area. If you have a laptop, the bookstore is wired for Internet access.
Heritage ParkLocated on campus by the Breezeway.Who knew, but there’s a park right on the campus. Play volleyball, and barbecue (permit required) at any time. There aren’t any entrance fees or closing hours.
Club BocaLocated 7000 W Palmetto Park Road.Thursday is the library, which is College Night. On any night, arrive before midnight and pay no cover.Girls 18 and over are allowed entrance – but no drinking, of course!
FAU weight room and gymnasiumThis summer the weight room and cardio room underwent a facelift, so students should check it out. The Owl Card is all you need – pay no fee to enjoy your weight workout, yoga, aerobic or judo class.
