Counseling services — Psychological counseling services are provided at no charge to the students attending the Broward campuses. The professionally trained staff seeks to assist students with a wide range of personal concerns and problems. Students receive help dealing with issues such as test anxiety, stress, procrastination, poor assertiveness, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, childhood sexual abuse, and sexual assault. Couple and family counseling is also available at no charge as long as an enrolled FAU student is an active participant in the sessions. Group counseling and psychological testing services are also provided when appropriate. Counseling at the center is held in strict confidence in keeping with accepted professional practices and Florida statutes. Appointments (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some evening hours also available) may be made in person at the Counseling Center located in Modular 38-I on the Davie campus or by calling 954/236-1216.
Wellness Center — FAU’s Student Wellness Center, located on the Davie campus between the Liberal Arts Building and Library, is open Monday through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The center’s goal is to provide highly specialized exercise programs for all members. Membership is free to all students.

Faculty Forum — The University Honors College Forum each week presents the Faculty Forum in the MacArthur Campus Auditorium, MAC 119 from 1 to 1:50 p.m. At this event, a member of the Honors College faculty or a guest speaker will discuss his or her research. This week, Professor Miguel Vazquez will be discussing “Poetic Pilgrimages: From Baghdad to Andalucia.”
