The following part-time positions are available on-campus. Job requirements and information are collected from the board in the Employment Office on the Boca Raton Campus or by submissions to the University Press.

Grad Research Assistant — The Biological Sciences Department and Environmental Lab at the Davie Campus are looking for two graduate research assistants from September 1, 2002 to August 31, 2003 to work on the EPA-sponsored project on beach quality. One position is only open to US citizens and lasts from September 1 to December 30. Position deals with protocols for biological-warfare germs. Responsibilities include ordering supplies, running labs, coordinating other student researchers, and helping with reagent and media preparation. Compensation is $12,000 a year in addition to being a paid research assistant. Candidate will be able to use project as a thesis research topic. Jupiter Campus Grad Assistant — The Student Affairs of the Jupiter Campus is looking for a Graduate Assistant for Student Life & Recreation. Duties include reporting to the Assistant Director for Student Life & Recreation. This position will assist in the overall organization and administration of the Recreation and Wellness Program on the Jupiter Campus of Florida Atlantic University. Qualifications include students in an FAU graduate program with at least a 3.0 GPA. The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics: Good organizational time-management and problem solving skills; demonstrated leadership; good interpersonal skills, people oriented personality; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to function independently and as a member of a team; commitment to promoting and providing quality customer service; and flexibility as this position requires some erratic hours in addition to regularly scheduled work shifts. Compensation will be in the form of an in-state tuition waiver plus $10 per hour for 20 hours a week. Lab Manager — The Department of Psychology is looking for a graduate student to fill the position of lab manager. Responsibilities include assisting in the design of psycholinguistic experiments, some basic data analysis, and supervising undergraduate research assistants. Rate of pay is $10 an hour. Student Assistant — The Dean of Students Office in Student Affairs is looking for a student assistant for the undergraduate grants committee for student government. Qualifications include marketing, budgeting, computer experience, and must be a self-starter. Workweek is 10 hours per week, for 48 weeks, for $6 per hour.
