FAU and Boca Raton finalize agreement

FAU and the city of Boca Raton have reached an agreement concerning traffic issues and campus development. The agreement is aimed at helping to reduce city traffic near the university, while allowing the campus to keep pace with projected growth in the coming years.

Under the agreement, Boca Raton will immediately receive a $9.8 million trust fund from the Florida Board of Education for traffic improvement near the university, as well as for city and fire and rescue services.

Other upcoming projects that are still in the early planning stages include a new 82,000 square-foot Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing complex, a 15,000 seat multi-purpose arena for basketball and other campus events, as well as numerous research and classroom facilities.
