With the FAU men’s basketball team making the NCAA Tournament, the team anxiously awaits the school’s response. Though, FAU students were on spring break when the basketball team made history, but their computers weren’t.
“I was in NY all week with my boyfriend, and his best friend called us long distance to tell us the news. His best friend doesn’t even go to FAU but he called us when he found out, and we were both very excited. I think it is really cool and will definitely “put us on the map” a little more.””-Lauren Stahl, sophomore
“All the older people (managers and those out of school) at where I work (Sports Authority) mentioned it to me within the past few days, acknowledging that FAU is in the tournament, and they knew that I go there so it was a bit shocking to them I guess.””On a personal note, I am excited about FAU making it to the big dance. I love college basketball and it would make me no happier then to see FAU make some noise in the tourney, and while their at it upset Maryland or one of the other teams that beat my boy Jason Williams and the Duke Blue Devils.”-Josh Goodstein, freshman
“It makes me extremely elated knowing our school isn’t as “pathetic” as some may label it, and I am very school spirited.”-Abby Ross, junior
“Its great to finally see the school stepping up athletically to stand by its academic partner. Way to go FAU. I missed the game due to work, but the sports page the following day filled me in nicely. I haven’t really heard people talk about it. I think the fact that their OWLS making it to the big dance is just penetrating their skin.”-Jason Kirkwood, senior
“This gives our university more recognition and hype. I talked to some of my friends back in Oklahoma and they had mentioned us going to the big dance.”-Jared Allen, sophomore and starting quarterback for the FAU football team
“I can’t wait to see people’s reactions. I can’t wait to see all the smiles around campus.-Jeff Cowans, sophomore
