FAU‘s chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society recently paid a visit to the Boca Raton Police Department. The purpose of the visit was to drop off ten cute and snuggly teddy bears. The teddy bears will be placed inside the vehicles of police officers, so when they arrive at a crime scene or emergency they can offer the teddies to children affected by a traumatic event in hopes of providing them with a sense of security, comfort, and tranquility. All of us who participated in this event definitely left the Police Department with a smile, which was amplified by the stories of past success with similar programs that the officers
were kind enough to share with us. The chapter’s contact with the Boca P.D. was Sergeant Migielski and we look forward to working with her and the department again in the future to uphold one of the focal goals of golden key, providing community service.
