This country is based on freedom of speech, religion, lifestyle, and choices. I don’t like being told what to do any more than any other person does. Why should Tom Cruise have to follow what others ascribe as how he should behave? He is in the public eye, but he is no different from you or me. The divorce rate is now over 50% in the US, and accordingly celebrities don’t have a magically better success rate. His marriage to Nicole Kidman no longer works for him, so he has the right to get out. He is now in a new relationship with Penelope Cruz, and I’m sure he would just prefer to focus on that without having to constantly rehash his divorce, which some observers take too seriously. As long as he shows up to the movie set, prepared and on time, makes scheduled interviews, and treats his fans with kindness there should be no grievances with him.
