Time is running out for members of the FAU community to sign up for the 2010 Race for the Cure. The online registration deadline is Sunday, Jan. 10. Let's send another great FAU team to this very worthwhile charitable event! Did you know that every significant advance in treating breast cancer in the past 25 years has been funded, at least in part, by The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation?
The 2010 Race for the Cure will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, along Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach. This is an inspirational outing in support of a great cause, and we would like to see you and your friends in FAU Team race T-shirts!
The best way to sign up for the FAU team is to register online:
- Find the sign-up link on the IEA webpage http://iea.fau.edu
- Click on "Join our Team" and complete the registration. Sign up for either a competitive 5K run, a 5K walk, Proud in the Crowd or other TEAM MEMBER option. Entry fee is $25. You can enter multiple registrations at one time. FAU team members can be anybody -- we do not discriminate!
- Set up your own fundraising page and hit up your family and friends for donations.
- Your race T-shirt and bib will be mailed to you directly from the Komen Foundation. We will deliver your FAU T-shirts and other race materials to you in January.
Can't join us for the race? No problem. Go to the "Make a General Race Donation" link in the pink box, or find somebody you like among the FAU team members and donate to their fundraising page. Or send your check made out to the Komen Foundation to the attention of Geoffrey Johnson, Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Analysis, SO 303, Boca Raton campus.
