Fort Lauderdale's Hugh Taylor Birch State Park offers several miles of marked and unmarked hiking trails. Sandwiched between Fort Lauderdale Beach and the Intracoastal Waterway, the park offers access to the beach via an underground tunnel that runs beneath State Road A1A and up-close views of the Intracoastal. Besides hiking trails, the park facilities also include playgrounds, picnic tables and a volleyball court. Admission is only $6 per vehicle or $2 per pedestrian. Visit www.floridastateparks.org/
