The cameras were there to film the parents as the doctors broke the news that their child wouldn't be waking up. Even if the commercials featuring "Dancing Queen" and "Mamma Mia" drive you up the wall, the film Mamma Mia spaces out the ABBA songs just enough to make them enjoyable.
