Coming off a win against Florida International University on Sunday, Florida Atlantic baseball picked up a loss against the Knights from the University of Central Florida on Tuesday night.

The Owls (28-11) scored one run, losing against the Knights (21-22) by a score of 3-1. They were shutout through the first five innings of play.

Sophomore Pitcher David McKay gave up three runs in the first three innings. He was one of five pitchers used during the night.

Freshman infielder Tyler Frank got the Owls first hit in the third inning. He also drove in senior left fielder Christian Dicks to score the team’s lone run of the night off of a sacrifice flyout in the sixth inning.

After the sixth inning the Owls had three straight scoreless innings.

“We had opportunities, we just have to do better with the bases loaded,” said head coach John McCormack.

The Owls next game is Friday, April 29, against the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles in Boca Raton.

“We’ve got exams coming up so we have to juggle practice a little bit and get ready for Friday,” McCormack said.
