FAU football coach Charlie Partridge to throw first pitch at May 30 Marlins game
FAU football head coach Charlie Partridge is preparing to throw the first pitch at the Marlins-Braves game on May 30, yet another attempt to increase the visibility of a young Owls’ program.
Patridge tweeted the following at 7:50 p.m.
Wrapping up awesome event for The Buoniconti Fund. Putting ice on my shoulder(Throwing out first pitch for the Marlins tomorrow) #WinToday

Soon after, Partridge also tweeted that he would be seeing FAU baseball coach John McCormack Friday morning to get some pointers.
@FAUCoachMac Looking forward to my lesson tomorrow morning so I'm ready for Marlins 1st pitch tomorrow night(Thank you). #WinToday

McCormack assured Partridge that he’d be ready to pitch Friday by game-time at 7:10 p.m.
@CoachPartridge we will get you ready to throw a strike

In American baseball, throwing the ceremonial first pitch is an honor given to people of distinction — a mere contest winner, an athlete from another sport, or a music mogul like 50 Cent (hopefully Partridge performs better than he did).
Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino (formerly of the Miami Dolphins) and LPGA golfer Lexi Thompson both have thrown out the first pitch at Miami Marlins games in 2014.
